Discovery launching network for rich men in Sept.

NEW YORK (AP) Discovery Communications Inc. is launching a television network for rich guys and their toys.

Called Velocity, the new network will replace the current network HD Theater in some 40 million homes on Sept. 25, Discovery officials said Thursday. The target audience is men with incomes of $150,000 a year and more.

"We just felt like this was a space missing in the marketplace," said David Zaslav, president and CEO of Discovery Communications.

NEW YORK (AP) Reese Witherspoon mourns the loss of her privacy.

The Oscar-winning actress says she sometimes sits in her car crying because she cannot go out in public as much as she'd like.

Rowling looking into Harry Potter e-books

LONDON (AP) J.K. Rowing's agent says the best-selling author is considering making the "Harry Potter" books available electronically.

Neil Blair, Rowling's agent, says the author is now "actively looking at all the various options" for launching the seven Harry Potter books in the e-book market.

Blair said Monday that Rowling has been watching the developing e-book market and waiting for the right moment to release her books in that format.

LOS ANGELES (AP) Betty White is adding a new NBC hidden-camera reality series to her resume.

NBC said Thursday that it has ordered 12 episodes of "Betty White's Off Their Rockers," the working title for a series about senior citizens who band together to play pranks on younger people.
