Warm temps and another round of storms expected today for Woodland Park.
We have been telling you for the last few days that we are going to see monsoon moisture moving into Teller County from the western half of the state. So....expect more thundershowers later this afternoon along the front range. Storms are most likely today for Teller and El Paso Counties, the Sangre de Cristo and Wet mountains and adjacent foothills. Storms are much less likely later today and this evening in places like Pueblo, La Junta and Trindad.
Skies tonight will be mostly clear to partly cloudy as temps cool back into the lower 50's.
Even more monsoon moisture will be available for thundershowers in Teller County for us on Friday. A few of the storms could drop some heavy rain at times. Highs should be a couple of degrees milder compared to today's toasty temps.
As we head into the weekend we'll keep about a 20-30% chance of storms in the outlook each afternoon on Saturday and Sunday. So...as is typical for this time of year, the morning forecast will be nice and quiet....then storm clouds will roll off the mountains in the afternoon.
It is looking pretty likely that the first Monday of the new month of August will be at least 4-6 degrees cooler than our temps over the weekend. More storms possible for the first day of the work week as well.
