Plenty of hot dry weather the next few days

TODAY: Hot and mostly dry today....and all the way through the weekend! Thanks to high pressure around the state it will be hot and we'll have less monsoon moisture available to produce thundershowers. Chances today only about 20% over the mountains...10-20% over Monument Hill and maybe as much as a 10% chance in Colorado Springs. Areas east from Pueblo will be the driest parts of the viewing area today and the hottest! Temps at 100 degrees or hotter this afternoon, Saturday and Sunday.
TONIGHT: The good news is, is that even though the afternoons will be hot, it will cool nicely at night. Clear skies this evening and temps in the lower to middle 60's for the Springs and Pueblo.
FRIDAY-SUNDAY: We don't expect much to change with the weather pattern locally....things staying well hotter than average and drier than we would like. Temps each day through the weekend and the start of next week will be in the lower to middle 90's in the Springs and in the lower 100's in Pueblo and on the plains. Each day there will only be a minimal chance of a storm or two over the mountains and higher elevations.
MONDAY-TUESDAY: As a cool front approaches we should see a slight increase in the amount of subtropical moisture along the Front Range. This moisture will make a couple of storms possible again in the forecast each afternoon. Chances of storms will go from 10-20% in the Springs on Monday to about 20% on Tuesday. Pueblo will still be mostly dry, but will at least have about a 10% chance of a storm again by Tuesday afternoon. Best chance of storms will remain over the mountains where there is a little more moisture. You might notice that temps on Tuesday will be about 1-2 degrees milder than Monday and the weekend.
WEDNESDAY: That cool front arrives and brings in some cooler air and a better chance for some afternoon storms. Temps should be about 4-6 degrees cooler than Monday. Chances of storms will rise to about 30-40% over the mountains close to home, 20-30% chance in the Springs and about a 20% chance of storms for Pueblo, Canon City and Trinidad. On the eastern plains our neighbors will have about a 10-20% chance of much needed moisture.
